None of us really knew what to expect from this city since we had never visited it before. In my mind, I always create my own vision of how this city could look like. I am sure that all of us had some idea in mind. Mine did not correspond with reality.
Don’t take this the wrong way, Dublin has some great monuments and I love the look of a river running through a city, but for me there was no coherence. After spending four days in Dublin, I still struggle to point out the real city centre. Although this city did not give me the feeling I expected it to, it does not mean that I did not have a great time.
As I already mentioned before we left, we struggled a bit to find some company visits. But I must say, we found some really interesting ones and Dublin turned out to be an ideal location to meet businesses. The company visits were so varied and interesting. I really loved the warm welcome we got at Robert Walter Recruitment. The employees of The National Gallery of Ireland really took their time to give us an elaborate explanation of how the departments work there. And the honesty of the employees of the GEC surprised me.

Of course Dublin was not only business related. And it will not surprise you when I say that my favourite moments were the evenings. Particularly the first and the last one. Monday evening we enjoyed a nice panoramic view of Dublin in the Gravity Bar at the top of the Guinness Storehouse. The last evening, we had dinner at Boco Bar. We loved our dishes and we had some great conversations as a close circle of friends, with a lot of laughter of course.
The perfect end to an interesting trip.
Ellen
