The road to Dublin – sponsoring activities

Of course, going to Dublin isn’t free. No matter how much fun, this trip also involves many costs. To cover all our costs, we had to organise sponsoring activities. During our weekly meetings, everyone was able to suggest which sponsoring activities we could organise in the weeks leading up to Dublin. We decided to offer sweet and salty treats at school with a different theme every 2 weeks (with the help of our families).

To begin with, we started selling fresh homemade soup and candy bags, which went out the door at lightning speed. Next we opted for a waffle sale for friends and family through connections of Dante. The waffles were very popular and even a second order followed soon. As follows, we sold delicious homemade waffles and pancakes, courtesy of Ellen’s mom, Stijn and my own. This sweets theme was definitely our biggest success, several times we were sold out within the hour.

Then December came with the cozy St. Nicholas and Christmas theme, these consisted of hot chocolate, homemade cookies, pancakes and speculoos, made by Stijn’s grandmother, Ellen’s and my mom. Another successful theme. We ended with a valentine theme, where we sold homemade chocolate mousse and cupcakes. We can conclude that we got a lot of help from family making it possible to do all our sponsoring activities. Our goal was to break even, hoping for a small surplus for Dublin and we succeeded meaning = HAPPY TEAM 😊.
